Jane – School Field Kent

Bitten in 2009 in a school field after I found what I first though were strange splinters in my leg. I removed them with nails/fingers. One of them crawled away after being lodged under my nail. I was ill from the first week (tired) but didn’t realise the danger of the bulls-eye rash and unfortunately the nurse at my surgery didn’t recognise it. Sick for 2 years even though I got antibiotics from week 5 and then saw a consultant who gave me long term antibiotics. Recovered for 2.5 yrs, the symptoms have returned. I’m now sick again. I’ve since heard that the field had historically been used as grazing for sheep the year before I was bitten.
